What is Clinical Pilates?


Clinical Pilates is a system of exercises that integrates the traditional Pilates Method with modern research into musculoskeletal dysfunction.

The traditional Pilates method and the equipment used were invented by Joseph Pilates during World War 1. Believing "it is the mind itself which builds the body" and "physical fitness is the prerequisite to happiness" he developed a system of physical exercise involving controlled movements, stretching and breathing.

Scientific research has since provided powerful evidence for why this method works - enabling Physiotherapists to further assist people with pain and injury.
